Who am I? I am many things but first and foremost, I am the wife of Keith and the mother of two little boys, Harley and Levi. I am also a WAHM, an avid reader, experimental cook, self-confessed geek, couch potato, Facebook addict, digital scrapbooker and of course, a blogger.

I think I felt my first Braxton Hicks contraction this morning at 4:44am. Something woke me up and I put my hand on my stomach and it was as hard as a rock! I also had a full bladder too which didn’t help the situation as I thought I was going to BURST. Lucky for hubby I didn’t. I was going to wake him so he could feel it too but then I thought, this wouldn’t be very exciting for a man so I let him sleep. :) Anyway, it felt like my stomach had turned to stone and it was accompanied by an uncomfortable feeling but I can only imagine the real thing feeling a million times more uncomfortable! Mum never got Braxton Hicks so she couldn’t tell me what hers felt like. Everything I’ve read so far refers to that hard stomach feeling and slight cramping or just being uncomfortable overall. It only lasted less than a minute and it was gone. I wonder if it’s been happening more often in my sleep and I’m just not noticing it? It’s not painful. It means I’m normal! Well, to some that’s debatable. :P

I went for my first pregnancy massage last week. The massage itself wasn’t too bad but I’d pay the money again just to be able to take a nap on the table with the belly part cut out! Oh God how I miss laying on my belly. I’m counting the days before I can do that again. Oh, and until I see our beautiful boy of course! :)

Went shopping for a mat for his room yesterday but there was nothing! Looks like that might be an online job too. Why shop retail when you get things delivered direct to you? Man, I’m getting lazy. I went a little nuts on the weekend and purchased the following:-

Fisher Price Power Plus Swing – It’s an electronic baby swing that has three different seat reclining levels so as his neck gets stronger, he can sit up further. It also has 6 different swinging speeds and it plays music. Mozart or Beethoven or something, I can’t remember but I’m sure that won’t last long anyway.

K’s Kids Toy House Playmat – This has to be the coolest invention ever. It’s a playmat that has a heap of little toys & things stuck to it and when you’re finished with it, it folds up into this little toy box house with a carry handle! Ok, so small things amuse small minds. I like it. :)

Babyhood Cot Canopy – Another great invention. This thing looks like something that would sit on your outdoor table to keep the flies off your food but THIS one is to keep the flies of your baby! The main reason I chose this is to keep the cat away from the baby. It’s a full length cover so she can’t even sneak up underneath if she wanted to. I honestly don’t think she’ll go near him as she doesn’t like things that make loud noises.

More Clothes – This kid is going to have more clothes and his Mummy! Ok, so maybe not but he’ll be close. I bought some adorable little country shirts and I won an eBay auction for 6 pairs of shorts including two pairs of Pumpkin Patch shorts (probably worth $30 EACH brand new) but I got the lot for about $40!

I’ve stopped taking photos of all the things we’ve bought him as there’s just so much! He now has about 5 toys, most of which rattle or squeak or crunch but they are just so bright and fun looking. I really want to take another trip to Toys ‘r’ Us now that we know the sex to get him some more!

I’m still waiting for the 8 cube bookshelf to arrive that I bought in early February. When we set that up, the nursery will be complete! Well furniture-wise anyway. Still have to buy a mat and get the curtains made. I’ll be sure to post pics when it’s finished. Here’s some current ones to tide you over. ;)
