Saturday 22nd December saw Keith, Harley, Rebecca (my sister) and I up and out of bed early and on our way to Brisbane for Christmas with my Mum, her husband Leon, two of his sons and their families. On the way down we stopped and spent the night at Burrum Heads, a nice little place just North of Hervey Bay. We made it to Brisbane the following day and by then we were all sick of looking at each other after being stuck in a car for two days straight!
Christmas Day was nice. Harley got spoilt being his first Christmas. He received some great gifts from everyone including a ball pool, Tonka truck, Peek-a-block fish, clothes, books & more! You can see the photos here. Christmas afternoon was spent at a holiday house not far from Brisbane city. The kids played in the pool and the adults drank and chatted - a typical Aussie Christmas! It was a great day and an early night for most of us since we were all up around 5:30am Christmas morning.
On the 27th I met up with some of the girls from a forum I frequent. It was a lovely day but was spoilt by the rain. We had a coffee and a chat then went for a walk around Brisbane Forest Park to see the animals, etc. Then it rained and we decided that that was enough for one day and headed home. Thanks again girls for a lovely day! Hope to meet you all again in the future. :)
The trip home was split by a few nights staying in Chinchilla, my old hometown. It was great to catch up with my cousins and see how much their little ones had grown. Everyone fell in love with Harley (of course!). The fact that he's teething made the trip take a little longer than expected as we had to stop a few times but other than that, he's a great little traveller. That's a good thing as we do a lot of travelling so too bad for us if he hated it!
Anyway, I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas filled with fun, food and festivities. Now for New Years! :)
Who am I? I am many things but first and foremost, I am the wife of Keith and the mother of two little boys, Harley and Levi. I am also a WAHM, an avid reader, experimental cook, self-confessed geek, couch potato, Facebook addict, digital scrapbooker and of course, a blogger.
