For the last 6 months I've been getting this really intense pain in the middle of my back that radiates around to my lower chest and usually only lasts an hour or so before it disappears. I'd been admitted to hospital once before for the same thing but they were unable to tell me then what was the cause. I've had it about 6-7 times now.
This happened again last night only this time the pain wouldn't go away. We were at a BBQ at the neighbours place and I only had two Vodka & OJ's before I felt nauseas so I knew something was up then. We left about 9pm and I took some Panadol before I went to bed at 9:30 but there was no way on Earth I could get to sleep with the pain in my upper back making it hard to breathe or get comfortable.
I tossed and turned and got up and down a million times. I left it for a while before I alerted Keith (in tears) that I really was in a lot of pain and it wasn't easing. I took 2 Nurofen at 12:30 and waited till 1am to see if anything changed. Nothing did so we packed Bub's stuff in the car and drove to the Hospital. I felt absolutely HORRIBLE digging both Keith and Harley out of bed at that time of the night but I was genuinely worried. :(
After a few tests including bloods and urine, I was told it could be a number of things, all of which I heard last time around and was cleared of. They gave me some Codapane at around 2am which eased the pain enough for me to go home to get some sleep. The pain kicked in again around 6am so I took another hit of the medication. My wonderful husband looked after Harley while I had a sleep in this morning. The doctor rang while I was asleep with the results of the blood & urine test - all clear so I'm back at square one. Again. :s
Who am I? I am many things but first and foremost, I am the wife of Keith and the mother of two little boys, Harley and Levi. I am also a WAHM, an avid reader, experimental cook, self-confessed geek, couch potato, Facebook addict, digital scrapbooker and of course, a blogger.
