Who am I? I am many things but first and foremost, I am the wife of Keith and the mother of two little boys, Harley and Levi. I am also a WAHM, an avid reader, experimental cook, self-confessed geek, couch potato, Facebook addict, digital scrapbooker and of course, a blogger.

31 weeks

Wednesday, 2 May 2007

My plans have now been turned upside-down but definitely for the better. I went and saw the doctor yesterday after having a chat with my boss about how I’d been feeling really tired after working all day and then driving the 30 minute trip home and on more than one occasion almost falling asleep at the wheel so he suggested I get a certificate from the doctor which would allow me to finish earlier. I thought great! I can finish on the 11th instead of the 18th! The doctor printed out the certificate, signed it and handed it to me but I didn’t look at it until I got back to the office.

“This is to certify that I have today (Tuesday 1st May 2007) examined [me] and in my opinion she will be unfit for her nornal work from 1st May 2007……”

Eep! So my last day at work was supposed to be yesterday but is now this Friday the 4th May! It’s only two weeks but it’s two weeks that I thought I would be at work. I can’t believe I only have two days left! I haven’t decided if I’ll even come back yet but at this stage, I’d like to. Things will change dramatically after Bubs arrives and I’ll probably decide to become a SAHM but my plan at the moment is to come back on the 12th May 08.

I’m trying to get everything organised for my replacement who’s actually been here for the last three weeks but still needs a little more training in some areas. I said to my boss and my replacement that they can call me/email me at home if there’s anything they need to know but I just hope it doesn’t turn out that I get a few phone calls a day. That’d be just annoying.

I want to draw up a list of things that I want to do before the baby arrives. Can’t guarentee that ANY of it will get done but can’t say I didn’t try! I have a heap of clothes I want to sell on eBay so that’ll take about a day. Only 60 or so days left to fill! I’m sure I’ll find something to do. Mum wants me to go up to Townsville with her for a few days but she starts her new job on the 11th May (YAY Mum!) so have to see what happens. I don’t want to venture too far from home just in case this little man decides he’s had enough of living in the dark and wants to see the outside world sooner rather than later! Imagine all the digi-scrapping I’m going to get done during my time off? Be sure to keep an eye on my Digi-Scrap Blog – Scrap Happy Manda – for my latest work.

Two days to go! Two days to go!
