Who am I? I am many things but first and foremost, I am the wife of Keith and the mother of two little boys, Harley and Levi. I am also a WAHM, an avid reader, experimental cook, self-confessed geek, couch potato, Facebook addict, digital scrapbooker and of course, a blogger.

We had antenatal class on Saturday and to be honest, I really didn't learn anything new. Most of what we went through was stuff that I'd already read somewhere along the line. What we DIDN'T need to see was the bloody huge epidural needle that was passed around the room. I wasn't against having an epidural but after seeing that needle, I think it's scared me into not wanting it at all! Keith said he doesn't want me to have it either but he won't be the one going through all the pain so I'm keeping my options wide open. We met two nice couples and one of them was into motorbikes so Keith got his number and they're going to go for a ride one day (So typical... We're there to talk about labour and birth and these two are nattering on about Suzuki's and dirt tracks!) I think it really did open Keith's eyes to a lot of things as he hasn't read half the stuff I have. He knows that he has to be supportive at the birth (back rubs, staying nearby, not taking me swearing at him personally LOL, etc). I don't think he realises what he's in for...

The class wasn't anything like you see in the movies with people sitting on the floor panting, etc. It was just a PowerPoint Slideshow and we just asked questions whenever we wanted. Hearing everything from someone who knows birth inside-out (the midwife) was reassuring but I felt she was pushing her opinions on us rather than letting us make up our own mind. She was lovely though. I hope to meet her again in the remaining weeks I have left!

On another note, this baby must be seriously running out of space as my ribs are copping a flogging lately. He HATES it when I lay on my right side and makes it known by kicking and rolling and punching until I roll back over. He's got it over me already and he's not even on the outside yet! Yeah I'll say it - Mumma's Boy! LOL

I've been off work for a little over a week now and haven't even had time to get bored so I can only hope it's like this for the rest of the time until he arrives. Yesterday I attended a meet witht he girls from my forum and that's always great. I got to nurse a little bub (9 weeks old) which felt kinda awkward and really brought home that fact that I really don't know what I'm doing when it comes to newborns as I really haven't had thet much experience with them. Talk about being thrown in the deep end! I'm hoping those motherly instincts I've heard about kick in soon. I haven't nursed a little baby like that for about 2 years.

Today I'm going to organise a weekend away for Keith and I before Bub gets here. We're thinking of staying in Airlie Beach and travelling up to Bowen on the Saturday to catch a glimpse of the new Nicole Kidman/Hugh Jackman movie being filmed there. Not that I expect to get any where near the set but we'd still like to have a look so when it comes out we can say "We saw that being made!". Small things... LOL

Hey, its probably good that Keith can find someone who has common intersts, whilst going through the same thing as the other "dad".

I dont know what this needle thing looks like, but from your reaction it donest sound very nice. I mean... you ride dirt bikes...!!! this needle must be pretty bad!!
