Who am I? I am many things but first and foremost, I am the wife of Keith and the mother of two little boys, Harley and Levi. I am also a WAHM, an avid reader, experimental cook, self-confessed geek, couch potato, Facebook addict, digital scrapbooker and of course, a blogger.

36 weeks 1 day

Thursday, 7 June 2007

Prego brain strikes again! Yesterday (Wednesday) I got up early, had a shower, got all prettied up, drove to town (30 minute trip) for my 36 week appointment at the hospital only to pull up in the car park, where I met Keith, to find my slip said the appointment is actually THURSDAY not WEDNESDAY! D'oh. I just looked at Keith and burst out laughing. What eles could I do? He laughed and then suggested we might as well have morning tea together since I was in town anyway! I felt like such an idiot...

Anyway, everythings fine with Bub. The Ob told me he is approx 8-8.5lb ALREADY which is a bit scary considering I still have 4 weeks to go! I knew he was a big boy months ago but didn’t think he was that big. Oh and I also found out that I may not have SPD afterall. I explained the symptoms in great detail to the Ob and she said because it’s only on one side and it’s riiight down in the pubic bone (not the symphasis area) she thinks it could be Bubs boofhead bouncing on a nerve which is causing the pain and the lazy leg symptom too. I don’t know whether to be relieved or not. She said once he’s born it should disappear but I’ll more than likely have to put up with it for the next 4 or so weeks. I don’t think this is a problem that physio would fix. Oh well, I’ve managed to put up with it for this long now, what’s another 4 weeks? As long as he's healthy, I'm happy to put up with it. She also called him a cheeky boy as he kept trying to dodge the doppler when she was trying to get his heartbeat. My little cheeky boy. :)

I'm getting BH contractions more and more lately and sometimes they hurt. I have no idea what my pain threshold is like as I've never really been in agony before but I guess I'll find out soon enough! I can handle these contractions but I know the "real thing" is going to be much MUCH worse...

We got Austar put on today as there is hardly anything on daytime TV and I think the kids channels are going to come in handy when Bub is old enough. Not to mention I'll actually have something to watch while I'm up at stupid o'clock hour feeding Bub!
