Who am I? I am many things but first and foremost, I am the wife of Keith and the mother of two little boys, Harley and Levi. I am also a WAHM, an avid reader, experimental cook, self-confessed geek, couch potato, Facebook addict, digital scrapbooker and of course, a blogger.

(5w 5d) So many firsts!

Monday 21 April 2008

This week Harley has had so many firsts I've almost lost track! Here they are...

* First time drinking from a strawer. OK so maybe this isn't such a big thing but it is for me! It means we no longer have to take the horrid sipper cup everywhere that spills on everything. Now he can drink from his big boy bottle! No spills, Mum happy. LOL

* First time pulling himself up on his own. This morning, Minka was sitting on the recliner, Harley crawled over to it and pulled himself straight up in one smooth move! Poor Minka didn't know what to think. I guess she now knows he's no longer this little blob on the floor but a moving, talking, hair pulling machine! Look out Ming...

* First ride on the pushbike with Dad. Yesterday, Dad put the baby seat on one of the bikes and took Harley for a ride around the yard (no helmet yet so didn't go too far). He absolutely loved it! He came back from his little trip around the yard with the biggest goofiest grin on his face! See photos below.

* First atomic poo. Now THIS is not a good thing. For those who don't know what an atomic poo is, think of how an atom bomb explodes (like a mushroom out the top). This is what happens to the poo. It explodes out the top! And the sides. And the front. And anywhere else possible. There was poo EVERYWHERE! All over his sheets, his teddy, his clothes, his hands and THANK GOD nothing on his face - particularly around the mouth region. I'd never seen (or smelt) anything like it in my life! And if there IS a God, I never will again. Being pregnant and having a sense of smell to rival Superman didn't help either. I smelt the boy before I saw him so I knew I was in for SOMETHING but just not that. Oh God, the memories!

I ripped him out of it, put him on the changetable and tried to strip him off without getting poo on me and the whole time he was LAUGHING! :| I guess he thought me saying over and over again "Yuck yuck yuck yuck yuck!!!" was hilarious. After the histerics stopped , I threw him in another bath (he'd only just had one - always the way!) and tried to get the poo out of places you don't even want to read about. Yuck yuck yuck yuck yuck!!!

OK, enough about poo. Starting to feel queasy remembering it! I thank the Heavens above that I'm not suffereing from morning sickness as that would have well & truly thrown me over the edge. Speaking of the pregnancy, things are progressing well. I have been rather crampy though but nothing too serious. It's rather constant though so I'm still on alert but as long as there's no bleeding, things should be OK. I have my next check up in 2 weeks if nothing happens before then. It still hasn't sunk in that I'm going to have TWO babies by the end of the year. Well, Harley won't be a BABY baby but he'll still be little. If today's effort is anything to go by, I think he's going to be walking before he's ONE! Look out Minka then... ;)
