I found out on Tuesday that my boss had a heart attack that morning and was rushed to Rockhanpton Hospital. A blood clot lodged in his heart causing the attack. Doctors have dissolved the clot and his blood pressure and heart rate are good but last night he was sent through Brisbane Hospital for an angiogram and other tests as doctors are concerned that they may not have got all the clots.
I really hope he's going to be OK. As far as bosses go, this guy is the best boss anyone could really ask for. I really wanted to call him as soon as I heard but thought it probably wasn't a good time so I sent my best wishes with one of his workmates who visited yesterday. I made sure he told him that I'm the one who should be in hospital, not him! He has impecible timing. Tuesday was the first day of his annual leave!
He's a real workaholic so 6 weeks off in a row being laid out is going to be hell for him. I got a message to him but haven't heard back yet.
The worst part is, I'm not working, my replacement is a total noob and still struggling after a few months on the job, another of the IT guys finished for good on Friday which leaves Rob and the new guy to support 450+ people in 6 different towns. I feel sooo helpless. I've almost been tempted to offer my services from home but I don't want to get in over my head at this stage. They aren't expecting me to offer my help so I won't worry about it. I'll just sit at home and stress about what's happening!
Still nothing on the Bub front. Braxies are getting more and more intense but I seem to say they every day. Today it seems awfully hard to move while in the middle of one but still, no pain like I imagine labour to feel like. Bub is a little more active today than he has been lately so I'm totally confused. I have a big day tomorrow with my 40wk checkup in the morning, coffee with a friend after that, lunch with my hubby, might make a stop at Kmart for the toy sale and then dinner tomorrow night with some friends. With any luck, after all that, Bub will decide to make an appearance on Saturday and Daddy will get his wish for an 07/07/07 birthday boy!
