Had my 40 week appointment at the hospital today and this midwife wasn't sure if Bub was breach or head first so she decided to do an ultrasound. Even though I told her he's been head down for a few weeks now she still wanted to do it. I didn't argue as I'd take any opportunity to see Bub! When she had a feel around afterwards, she said his head must be right down in the pelvis and I felt like saying "Well, duh? Do you think I walk like this all the time?" but I didn't. She also did an internal exam and said I was about 2cm dilated and "soft & squishy". She said this is a very good thing as Bub won't be too far away (she couldn't give me a date but really who can?).
We expect him in the next 48 hours but I'm not going to believe that until I'm holding the little fella in my arms looking at his face. Walking today has become increasingly difficult due to his boofhead lodged in my pelvis so I can only hope he comes soon so I can walk like a human again and not a duck!
So, we're still paying the waiting game. There are so many people waiting on the news that the guy has arrived. I don't know how we're going to pay the phone bill next month as I have eleventy-billion SMS's to send when he's born! I don't mind though. I want to let everyone know that he's here - safe & sound. :)
