Who am I? I am many things but first and foremost, I am the wife of Keith and the mother of two little boys, Harley and Levi. I am also a WAHM, an avid reader, experimental cook, self-confessed geek, couch potato, Facebook addict, digital scrapbooker and of course, a blogger.

A bit of a scare

Thursday, 19 February 2009

Earlier today I was vacuuming Harley's room when my vision went blurry and I started to feel dizzy. I stopped immediately and sat down in case I passed out. Not long after I sat, my left arm went tingly from the elbow to the fingertips and soon after that the left side of my face went numb too! I thought I was having a stroke! I rang Keith to tell him and then put Harley to bed so I could lay down for a while to see if that'd help.

When I got up, I felt better but had a splitting headache so I rang the birth centre to see what they suggested. They asked me to come in just for a quick check over. They took me over to the hospital to hook me up to a CTG machine to check that bub was fine (all good) and I had a few braxies while there which showed up clear as a bell on the monitor! Another thing I noticed was that every time Harley made a loud noise, bubs heartrate went up! Bonding already? Or terrified of big brother! LOL

Anyway, as it turned out, it was nothing too bad. They think I was suffering from a migraine. All that for a damn headache? At least I'll recognise it next time. Well here's hoping there won't BE a next time though...
