Who am I? I am many things but first and foremost, I am the wife of Keith and the mother of two little boys, Harley and Levi. I am also a WAHM, an avid reader, experimental cook, self-confessed geek, couch potato, Facebook addict, digital scrapbooker and of course, a blogger.

A Day in the Life of Harley Andrew

Tuesday 23 September 2008

Hi! My name is Harley Andrew and I'm this many [holds up 1 finger]. Son of Dad Dad and the lady who's name I refuse to say (only because she wants me to so bad!). I also live with a furry black thing that walks on four legs. They call it a cat. I call it a pull toy.

My day begins when the light comes through the window. The M lady comes to get me after a half an hour of me talking to Teddy (Oh how I love Teddy ♥ ) and then we have a play and watch a show called Sunrise on the bright box that I like to push all the buttons on. I wait patiently while the M lady gets my breakfast ready, usually some soggy biscuits with milk (Weetbix) or some soggy clumpy floaty things with milk (Oats) and my favourite, toasty toast with jam! The M lady doesn't like my jam hands very much when I want to give her a cuddle though. I don't know why? Jam is yummy! :D

The next part of my day is what Dad Dad calls "bogey time" (bath time). Bogey time is fun. I love bubbles!!! I have a few friends in there too; ducky, squirty shapes, pelican. They like playing with me in the bath. Once the M lady says "Hopping out now?", I know it's all over and I don't like that very much so I protest by saying "Nuh." It appears the M lady can't speak my language because she gets me out anyway! :( After bath time, I'm wrapped in a nice fuzzy towel and taken to my bedroom. The M lady throws some white stuff all over me which I help to rub in, then she puts a clean nappy on me and some clothes and it's back to bed for me.

I sleep until I wake up (doesn't everyone?) and then I let the M lady know that I'm awake by having another D&M with Teddy. He's a great listener but doesn't say much? She comes to get me, we have a quick cuddle and then I get a snack and a drink before we head off on our walk. She puts me in the pram and off to the shop we go. Along the way I see lots of things like "Thomas" chugging along beside us (trains), a few of those furry things that make lots of noise (dogs), some people I don't know that always want to rub my head and tell me how much they love my hair and of course, the hole in the wall at that place we get the mail from. The M lady always lets me grab the stuff out of the hole in the wall. I don't know where it comes from but there's always more every time we go there! I often hear the M lady say how much she hates someone called "Bill". I wonder who Bill is and what he did?

After our walk, I'm allowed to play outside in the yard. Yay! I have lots of toys to play with in the yard but I'd much rather play with the things the M lady doesn't want me to like the big green thing with wheels on it (wheelie bin) and the long green thing that squirts me when I pick it up (hose). I'm so happy to have the sandpit now but I don't like it when I get sand in my nappy!

When playtime is over, it's time for more food (lunch)! The M lady makes me a sandwich or some other yummy food and I eat it all up. This makes the M lady happy so she gives me a treat like a biscuit or some little black yummy things (sultanas).

It's quiet time after lunch so the M lady and I watch some cartoons on the bright box with the buttons or we play in my room until I'm ready for my nap. I like playing in my room. I have so many great toys and books. If only I could read! Instead the M lady reads them to me. I love the pictures though. I especially love the books with flaps that hide things behind them. My favourite toy would be my colourful blocks that stick together (Lego). The M lady doesn't like it when she steps on them though!

Nap time again. I have a great nap (usually) and when I wake up, it's time for now outside play! The M lady and I share a snack on the front lawn and then we play ball. I'm getting pretty good with the ball now, I can even kick it! I like throwing it to the M lady to catch and throw back to me but I can't quite catch yet. I'll work on it though! In the afternoon is "bus time". We sit on the front patio and watch the buses drive around the corner (all 11 of them). I'm not sure where they all go but they always come back! After a bit more of a play, it's back inside for more quiet time until the M lady gets my dinner ready. I wonder what it will be tonight? I love my chicken with veges or the long stringy things in yummy sauce (spaghetti bol).

Dinner time is over and it's bogey time again! All my friends are still there and we have a great play until it's "hopping out now?" time. Again, I protest but it goes unheard so out I hop and head into my room to get dressed in my night time clothes. Unless of course the M lady loses grip of me and I make a rudie nudie dash into the loungeroom to hide behind my little couch. She always finds me though (I think my giggling gives me away)! Once I'm all dressed, we have more story time in my room and this time Teddy sits in too. He likes stories. :D Story time is over and I know it's getting close to bed time as the M lady has started yawning again.

After a nice warm bottle of milk, the M lady gives me a cuddle and kiss and then tucks me into bed telling me she loves me. I'm not sure what that means but I'm pretty sure that I feel the same way.
